Research & Innovation

Over the past 30 years, our fundamental understanding of the genetics and pathogenesis of congenital heart disease has lagged the tremendous advances in the surgical and clinical care of infants with this group of disorders. Our research endeavors to close this gap by combining genetics, genomics and epidemiology with clinical practice in pediatric cardiology to investigate the genetic and molecular basis of congenital heart malformations and their long-term sequela in children and adults.
