Cardiac Catheterization, Angiography and Interventional Catheterization

US News - Stanford Children's Health

We are at the forefront of advancing minimally-invasive techniques of interventional cardiology, angiography and cardiac catheterization. Our commitment to innovation has helped us reduce risk, safely shorten hospital stays and dramatically shorten recovery times.

It has also driven the development of new devices and treatments that allow us to more safely deliver critical treatment to even the youngest patients, like a catheter-delivered stent implanted in an 8-month old infant — the youngest ever to undergo this procedure. Another example is our use of the Harmony™ transcatheter pulmonary valve (TPV) to treat pulmonary regurgitation without surgery. Stanford Children’s Health is one of the first hospitals in the U.S. to implement this new therapy for children. Yet another example of our innovative approach is employing cutting-edge transcatheter device solutions for preterm infants with patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) who require intervention.
