Pediatric Asthma

US News and World Report Badge for Pulmonary MedicineAsthma is the most common chronic disease in children. Thankfully, it’s also one of the most treatable. At Stanford Children’s Health, our team of experts works to correctly diagnose and treat children of all ages with mild, moderate and severe asthma.

Asthma can often be misdiagnosed, but our team of pediatric pulmonologists—the largest in California—has decades of experience diagnosing and treating asthma in children. This means they can confidently diagnose and treat kids who are wheezing or have a chronic cough, whether they have asthma or another lung disease. We are also the only center in the Bay Area with the equipment to accurately measure lung function in infants and toddlers.

Once a child is diagnosed with asthma, we work with the patient and his or her family to control it from multiple angles. We use traditional and integrative medicine and environmental changes to help every patient live a healthy, happy life while managing his or her symptoms.
